Honoring Those Who Served: Certainty Vets Helping Vets

This Veterans Day, we’re taking a moment to recognize the people who’ve given so much to this country. At Certainty Home Lending, serving veterans isn’t just something we talk about in November. It’s woven into who we are every single day of the year.

We’re fortunate to have a number of dedicated veterans on our own team—people who brought their commitment to service from the military into their work with us.  People like Scott MacIntyre, who works in our Greater D.C. Metro and Mid-Atlantic region. These team members understand what it means to show up for others, to solve problems under pressure, and to put the mission ahead of personal recognition. They’ve made us better, and we’re grateful for what they bring to our culture.

When we work with veteran borrowers, we know we’re helping people who’ve already done the hard work of serving something larger than themselves. Now they’re building the next chapter of their lives, and we take that responsibility seriously. Whether it’s a first home purchase using VA benefits or a refinance to better fit changing circumstances, we make sure veterans have access to flexible options that work for their unique situations.

We offer a range of mortgage products designed specifically for those who’ve served. VA loans remain one of the most powerful tools available to veterans and active-duty service members, and we make it our job to help navigate the process with clarity and care. We also work with veterans who may need non-traditional lending solutions, understanding that military careers don’t always follow conventional timelines or income patterns.

What matters most to us is meeting each veteran where they are and understanding their specific financial needs. We don’t push products. We listen first, then work to find the right fit. That approach comes directly from our broader commitment to serving as financial advisors rather than simply closing transactions.

Some of our team members go further, donating a portion of their VA loan closings to veteran-focused community organizations. Others dedicate time to helping veteran borrowers understand their full range of options, even when it means more work on our end. This isn’t about optics or good PR. It’s about doing right by people who’ve already given more than most of us ever will.

The work our veterans did in uniform required them to adapt quickly, think clearly under pressure, and maintain integrity when no one was watching. Those same qualities show up in how they approach mortgage lending today. They understand that buying a home is one of the biggest financial decisions most families make, and they treat it with the seriousness it deserves.

As we move through this Veterans Day, we want to say thank you. To the veterans on our team, to the veteran borrowers we’ve had the privilege of serving, and to everyone who wore the uniform—your service matters. It shaped you, and in turn, you’ve shaped the communities you’re part of now. We’re proud to work alongside you. We’re honored to serve you. And we’re committed to making sure that when you’re ready to take the next step toward homeownership, we’re ready to help make it happen.
